My name is Sam, and I’ve been a mechanic for 30 years. I started building transmissions back in 2004 and spent many years as a fully certified Chrysler dealer technician before opening AutoTrans M.D. in May of 2019.

My son and I run the shop together. He’s my business partner, and I personally taught him how to build transmissions. Between the two of us, we’re the ones who actually do the rebuilds — every single one.

We give every customer an honest initial estimate upfront. Once we open the transmission, if we find additional damaged parts that couldn’t be seen from the outside, we always call you first to discuss the findings and any potential changes before proceeding. Our goal is to be transparent every step of the way.
